A Man Like Me

I used to be a man who lived just for me

Drifting along, I didn’t know what I was looking for

And then I came to see the warm reality

That, in my life there could be so much more

I traded in my old heart for a new one

And I left all my sin at the cross of Calvary

Jesus took my hand and He helped me understand

God has a heart for a man like me

He always makes a way to say what He wants to say

A custom design to save all people one by one

And as sure as I’m standing here He’s telling everyone “draw near”

“Come be my child and get to know me thru my Son”

Jesus came to forgive us not condemn us

And He wants to fill our lonely hearts with His everlasting love

I have heard His voice and I have made a choice

And now God has a man like me

(bridge)       I’m so amazed He loves a man like me

                   I’m far from worthy it’s plain to see

                   But God’s love reaches down

                   And finds eternal worth in me

If you take the time to hear it will all come clear

He holds the key and is the answer you’ve been looking for

And if you give to Him your heart you can take your part

And then partake of the glory that He holds in store

He’s knocking on the door for you to open

In His holy kingdom there’s a place to be filled by only you

So come and take the hand of the Living God Who became man

The One Who takes away all sin

Then He will lead you and me to be like Him
